{"id":563,"date":"2015-03-04T23:57:47","date_gmt":"2015-03-04T23:57:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/swampgehl.com\/?p=563"},"modified":"2015-06-19T14:06:05","modified_gmt":"2015-06-19T14:06:05","slug":"long-lost-gehls","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/swampgehl.com\/?p=563","title":{"rendered":"Long Lost Gehls"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I was looking over a small booklet entitled;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Cyril &amp; Rose Gehl family reunion July 2, 2000 1:00 pm Hilbert Civic Park<\/p>\n<p>It looks like it was put together by Carol Vollmer Gehl. \u00a0A few pages in there was a page dated 1992 with the name Carol hand written. \u00a0The title of the page is <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Some interesting general information I got from Uncle Joe Gehl.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>One of the entries listed was this simple line;<\/p>\n<p>Emma Drake was Andrew Gehl&#8217;s cousin from Indiana<\/p>\n<p>I started digging around and found an Emma Gehl, born in 1864 in Indiana, who married William Drake in 1893. \u00a0After searching a little more I found her parents were Nicholas and Mary Heitz Gehl. \u00a0Nicholas was born 17 Jun 1831 in Rehlingen, Germany.<\/p>\n<p>Nicholas is the older brother of Johann Gehl (Andrew Gehl&#8217;s dad) from Germany! \u00a0Uncle Joe was right &#8211; Emma Drake was Andrew Gehl&#8217;s first cousin!
